Eat
Liverpool was crowned the UK’s culinary capital in 2025 for the second year in a row, with good reason. Its culinary offerings have been described as welcoming and friendly, gastronomically diverse and family friendly. It has also been named the second most affordable place to eat. You can find everything from Indian street food, authentic Italian eateries and many of small plate options throughout the city.
On the Albert Dock right outside the convention centre, there is a choice of Catalan, Italian, Indian, Pan-American, Thai, Greek and classic fish and chips. You’ll also find Time Out’s top spot in Liverpool – the Middle Eastern-inspired small plates restaurant Maray. If you’re looking for an upmarket treat while in the city, try the Michelin-listed ‘8' by Andrew Sheridan, Manifest, NORD or the renowned The Art School in the Georgian Quarter.

Drink
If you’re looking for a drink before the conference dinner, Liverpool doesn’t disappoint. With a mix of classic pubs and bars with modern mixologists, you’ll be sure to find whatever you fancy! Choose Café Tabac for a bohemian café vibe, Ropes and Twines for a chic wine bar that doubles as an art gallery or the classic Philharmonic Dining Rooms, a place often hailed as England’s most ornate pub. On the Albert Dock, there’s the Botanist, which is perfect for pre-dinner casual drinks. For cocktails, beers, wines and live music, head to The One O’Clock Gun. If you’re looking to carry on the party after the conference dinner, head to Mathew Street, Concert Square, the Baltic Triangle or the Waterfront.

Shop
Liverpool One is the city centre’s vast open-air retail and entertainment centre with over 170 stores, restaurants and bars. The MetQuarter shopping mall houses boutiques and iconic brands. For something more independent, head to the bazaars on Bold Street, Lark Lane and Red Brick Vintage.
Run
If you’re an early bird or maybe need to run off the conference dinner before a full day of lectures, then Liverpool has plenty of green space and a stunning waterfront. The waterfront promenades are accessible right outside of the conference centre and link the Albert Dock to Otterspool Promenade.
If you’re a park runner, then head to Calderstones Park or take a turn around Sefton Park and marvel at The Palm House – Sefton Park’s ‘Great Conservatory’ that was gifted to the city by a local benefactor and first opened to the public in 1897.

Culture, family fun, and making the most of your stay
Why not extend your stay and see some of the many attractions the area has to offer? Whatever your age, interest or budget, there is no shortage of things to do in the city and surrounding area, from museums and galleries to beaches, parks and ferry trips – and that’s all without even mentioning the football!
Music fans should visit The Beatles Story, The Liverpool Beatles Museum, take the Magical Mystery Tour and then complete your pilgrimage with a visit to the famous Cavern Club.
Football fans will need to declare their allegiance to either the red or the blue side of the city. Still, both the Liverpool and Everton stadiums offer tours that are a great experience, even if your allegiances lie elsewhere.
Liverpool has a wealth of free museums for those looking for culture. The World Museum houses thousands of exhibits and hands-on-activities, whilst the Museum of Liverpool is the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city, and the largest newly-built national museum in Britain for more than a century.

Finally, if you’d like to relax in the sunshine (fingers crossed!), head further afield to the dramatic, art-filled Crosby beach, famous for Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ statues, or the pine-fringed Formby Beach, renowned for its extensive dunes, beautiful woodland and 13 miles of sand. If water sports are more your thing, then West Kirby offers a beach and marine lake popular for water sports with stunning views across to North Wales.
