Celebrating Over 50 Years of Advancing Obstetric Anaesthesia

Celebrating Over 50 Years of Advancing Obstetric Anaesthesia

Since 1970, the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association (OAA) has played a leading role in improving the safety and quality of maternity care across the UK and beyond. For more than five decades, our members have driven progress in obstetric anaesthesia, shaping better outcomes for mothers and babies.

We invite you to explore the remarkable contributions of our past Presidents, gold medal recipients, and honorary members—individuals whose dedication and innovation continue to influence clinical practice today. Their stories highlight the breakthroughs that defined our specialty and should inspire the next generation to meet new challenges with the same vision and commitment.

Visit the new online archive at https://www.oaa-anaes.ac.uk/about-us/a-historical-archive-of-the-oaa

The OAA thanks our past Honorary Secretary, Mike Kinsella for his contribution to the compilation of this archive.
