Grants and bursaries

The OAA has a selection of grants and bursaries supporting research, projects and professional development that promote quality improvement and better safety in maternity care.

Three grants are available to OAA members to fund research, quality improvement and innovation in obstetric anaesthesia. The OAA large research grant is coordinated in partnership with the National Institute for Academic Anaesthesia. The medium and small grants are managed in house by the OAA Research and Grants Subcommittee.

Travel grants are available to members. The OAA also provides support to medical students who wish to spend their overseas elective placement studying obstetric anaesthesia.

Please click on the links below to find out more about each grant and bursary and how to apply. You'll also find information explaining the OAA's policy on using animals in research and information on previous grants awarded.
