General

Obstetric anaesthesia is highly developed in Bicetre hospital, where numerous high risk patients deliver. Clinical research in obstetric anaesthesia is well recognised and the department of anaesthesia as a whole is also highly recognised.

This post is intended for anaesthetists with an interest in obstetric anaesthesia, with or without previous experience in clinical research. All necessary training will be given in post. The post provides an opportunity to learn all the stages of the research process, through to presentation and publication.

Clinical

Average clinical workload is equivalent to four theatre sessions weekly, with some nights on call each month.

Hospital

Bicetre Hopsital is a 900 bed university teaching -hospital with most surgical activities, including orthopaedic, general, urologic, ENT, ophthalmologic, neurosurgical, paediatric and gynaecological surgery units. The Department of Anaesthesia also runs the Surgical ICU.
