Notice of Election of Honorary Treasurer, Executive Committee Members and Trainee Member, to take up positions following the Annual Meeting (via webinar) on Saturday 26th June 2021.

Nominations are invited for the following posts:

1) Honorary Treasurer for three years with effect from 6th May 2022. The person elected will act as Honorary Treasurer-elect for one year from 26th June 2021.
Dr James Bamber is eligible for re-election having served a single term as Treasurer of three years.

2) Three Ordinary Executive Committee Members (three-year term of office).
Dr Rachel Collis and Dr Vinnie Sodhi are eligible for re-election having served a single term of three years.

3) One Trainee Committee Member (two-year term of office).

Any person wishing to stand for a post must submit the nomination form. The nomination must be supported by a proposer and seconder, who must confirm by email to the OAA Secretariat. Nominees, their proposers and seconders must be members of the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association, in good standing.

The deadline for receipt of nominations (including supporting emails from proposers and seconders) is 9am on Friday 14th May 2021.

The Honorary Secretary must receive all nominations by the closing date. An OAA member may nominate more than one person for each vacancy.
The names of those nominated to fill the vacancies, their grade/job title, hospital and proposer and seconder and copies of their election statement will be published on the members’ area of the OAA’s website no later than Friday 21st May 2021.

An unopposed nomination for the Honorary Treasurer-elect or Trainee Committee Member will automatically be elected. If the number of nominations for the post of Ordinary Executive Committee Member is less than or the same as the available number of vacancies, then the nominees will be automatically elected.

Where there are more valid nominations for the Honorary Treasurer-elect post, the Executive Committee Members or Trainee Committee Member, than the number of vacancies, the election to fill those vacancies will occur by electronic voting through the members’ area of the OAA’s website. Each OAA Member will be entitled to cast a number of votes equivalent to the number of vacancies for Honorary Treasurer-elect post, the Executive Committee Members or Trainee Committee Member.

The election will be in accordance with any instructions displayed on the members’ area of the OAA’s website and will open no later than Friday 21st May 2021 and close at 17.00 hours on Friday 25th June 2021.

The results of the electronic vote will be declared on Saturday 26th June 2021.
