Notice of Election of President-elect, Executive Committee Members and Trainee Member, to take up positions following the Annual Meeting on Friday, 24th May 2019.
Nominations are invited for the following posts:
1. President for three years with effect from 15th May 2020. The person elected will act as President-elect for one year from 24th May 2019.
2. Three Ordinary Executive Committee Members (three-year term of office). Dr Emma Evans is eligible for re-election having served a single term of three years.
3. One Trainee Committee Member (two-year term of office).
Any person wishing to stand for a post must submit the nomination form, signed by a proposer and seconder. Nominees, their proposers and seconders must be members of the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association, in good standing.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is 5pm on Thursday 4th April 2019.
The Secretary must receive all nominations by the closing date. An OAA member may nominate more than one person for each vacancy.
The names of those nominated to fill the vacancies, their grade/job title, hospital and proposer and seconder and copies of their election statement will be published on the members’ area of the OAA’s website no later than Thursday 11th April 2019.
An unopposed nomination for President-elect will automatically be elected. If the number of nominations for the post of Ordinary Executive Committee Member or Trainee Member is less than or the same as the available number of vacancies, then the nominees will be automatically elected.
Where there are more valid nominations for the President-elect post, Executive Committee Members or Trainee Member, than the number of vacancies, the election to fill those vacancies will occur by electronic voting through the members’ area of the OAA’s website. Each OAA Member will be entitled to cast a number of votes equivalent to the number of vacancies for President-elect, Executive Committee Member and Trainee Member to be filled.
The election will be in accordance with any instructions displayed on the members’ area of the OAA’s website and will open on Friday 12th April 2019 and close at 17.00 hours on Thursday 23rd May 2019.
The results of the electronic vote will be declared on Friday 24th May 2019.
