Travel Grants

 

The OAA has up to 12 travel grants per year to assist those who have abstracts, posters or papers accepted at meetings or have been invited to participate in an overseas educational course. The grants have a maximum value of £500 each.

The grants will be awarded in aliquots of 4 grants, 3 times a year. Applications should be submitted by January 31st, May 31st and September 30th. If the total grants available during one period are not awarded, they will be rolled over to the next period. The total number of grants available will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Research & Grants Committee.

1) Applicants must have been OAA members for one year at the time of application (in exceptional circumstances, applications from members of less than one year will be considered if accompanied by a letter of support from a member of at least one year’s standing).

2) Only meetings/courses specifically related to the field of obstetric anaesthesia will be considered

3) Applications should include the following:

(i) The full name, title, OAA membership number, institution and mailing address of the applicant

(ii) An outline of the meeting/course, venue and host organisation

(iii) An explanation of the applicant’s contribution to the meeting/course

(iv) A detailed breakdown of the costs and their justification

(v) A list of all other sources of funding sought or obtained, or a declaration that none others exist

(vi) An undertaking to provide a written report on return from the meeting/course
