Written in response to the rise in Caesarean section rates and the necessity to improve information for mothers and their partners, this leaflet covers the practical aspects of anaesthesia for Caesarean section including:

  • the advantages and disadvantages of regional anaesthesia including CSE
  • the advantages and disadvantages of general anaesthesia
  • post-operative analgesia after Caesarean section

The booklet may be used in conjunction with the film 'Your Anaesthetic for Caesarean section' (see DVD link).
