Other Bursaries
Bursaries of up to £1000 each to support suitable projects in the field of obstetric anaesthesia are available. The following categories will be considered:
- Overseas aid for specific projects
- Midwife projects (or those of other non-medical staff working within the field)
1) Applicants must have been OAA members for one year at the time of application (in exceptional circumstances, applications from members of less than one year will be considered if accompanied by a letter of support from a member of at least one year’s standing).
2) Applications should include the following:
- The full name, title, OAA membership number, institution and mailing address of the applicant
- An outline of the project including a detailed breakdown of the costs and their justification
- A list of all other sources of funding sought or obtained, or a declaration that none others exist
- A list of all other personnel who would be involved in the project, including the (senior) person who will be responsible for ensuring its completion
- The names of two referees; at least one should be an OAA member and one should be a non-trainee colleague
- An undertaking to provide a written report each year the project is running, to update the OAA on its progress
3) Each application will be considered on its merits by the OAA’s Officers and if appropriate, forwarded to the OAA Committee for a final decision. This decision will be final.
