Notice of Election of Honorary Secretary, Executive Committee Members and Trainee Member to take up positions following the Annual Meeting on Friday, 19th May 2017.

Nominations are invited for the following posts:

1. Honorary Secretary for three years with effect from 25th May 2018.
(The person elected will act as Honorary Secretary Elect from 19th May 2017).

Dr Nuala Lucas is eligible for re-election having served a single term of three years.

2. Three Ordinary Executive Committee Members (three year term of office).

Dr Kerry Litchfield and Dr Matt Wilson are eligible for re-election having served a single term of three years.

3. Trainee Member of the Executive Committee (two year term of office).

Trainees with at least one full year of training left to complete are eligible to stand.

Any person wishing to stand for a post, must submit the nomination form, signed by a proposer and seconder. Nominees, their proposers and seconders must be members of the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association in good standing.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is 5pm on Wednesday 12th April 2017.

The Secretary must receive all nominations by the closing date. An OAA member may nominate more than one person for each vacancy.

The names of those nominated to fill the vacancies, their grade/job title, hospital and proposer and seconder and copies of their election statement will be published on the members’ area of the OAA’s website no later than Tuesday 18th April 2017.

An unopposed nomination for Honorary Secretary will automatically be elected.

If the number of nominations for the post of Ordinary Executive Committee Member is less than or the same as the available number of vacancies, then the nominee(s) will be automatically elected.

An unopposed nomination for the Trainee Member of the Executive Committee will automatically be elected.

Where there are more valid nominations for the Honorary Secretary post, Ordinary Executive Committee Members or for the Trainee Member than the number of vacancies, the election to fill those vacancies will occur by electronic voting through the members’ area of the OAA’s website.

The election will be in accordance with any instructions displayed on the members’ area of the OAA’s website and will open on Tuesday 18th April 2017 and close at 17.00 hours on Thursday 18th May 2017.

Each OAA Member will be entitled to cast a number of votes equivalent to the number of vacancies for Executive Committee Members to be filled.

The results of the electronic vote will be declared on Friday 19th May 2017.
