Three-day Course Bursaries

A limited number of Bursaries are available to overseas doctors who otherwise could not afford to attend the Course. The bursary would cover travel expenses, four nights accommodation and successful applicants will be able to attend the course free of charge.

Applications for such Bursaries should be sent by email to Dr Gary Stocks (Chairman Research & Grants Subcommittee) and should include:

- the Applicant’s curriculum vitae

- projected travel and accommodation costs (see guide to costings in London)

- a letter from the Applicant’s Head of Department or Superior confirming the Applicant’s suitability for the Course, his/her current annual salary and that there are no local sources of funding available to the Applicant.

Payment for travel and accommodation would be by way of reimbursement on production of receipts and conditional on the Applicant attending the whole Course.

Each application will be considered on its merits by the Research & Grants committee. If more applications are received than bursaries available, applicants will be ranked in order of priority as determined by the Research and Grants committee and, if appropriate, forwarded to the OAA Executive Committee for a final decision.

The deadline for bursary applications is 1st June for attending the course in November the same year.    Bursaries will not be awarded to applicants who have been granted a 3 day course bursary in the last 3 years.
